Welcome to DerbyGhosts.co.uk

DerbyGhosts.co.uk is a non-commercial website that was created in 2001 by writer and designer, Milly Wong.

Milly (nee Melissa Robinson) had grown up in Derby fascinated by the many supernatural occurences that had been reported both in and around the city, but it wasn't until relocating to the South East in 2000 and trying (to no avail) to find out about local ghosts that she realised she had assumed wrongly that other towns and cities could boast the same level of reported paranormal activity as Derby.

As it became apparent to Milly that Derby has a much more haunted reputation and grisly history than many other cities and towns around the UK, she decided to accumulate as many Derby ghost stories as possible from the internet and list them for your eerie viewing pleasure. This then led her to write a recollection of her own supernatural experience, which prompted her to write about the experiences that others had shared with her. Click here to read details of Milly's experience as a child at Derby's Normanton Barracks.

Milly has recently moved back to Derby and as well as writing stories about Derby ghosts, she also writes poetry, most of which is based upon life growing up in Derby during the 1980s. She has also written a children's novel called Sparky which was partially inspired by her childhood in Normanton and Littleover, and is yet to be published.
